What's new in 2024

In 2024 we will continue to run regular Friday night sprint rounds, intermittant mid-week meetings and enduros. 2024 is CARRACE' 25th season, and is expected to continue with good membership. Championship events will proceed through to December and will be followed by the AGM. Midweek racing is usually scheduled in a week that does not have a championship round.

New Classes

There are no new classes introduced for the 2024 season

Rule Changes

One existing class has had a rule change and one has been clarified:

  • Classic NASCAR
    • The Classic NASCAR upper age limit has been extended to include cars that raced from 1950 - 1972 (previously it was 1950 - 1965).
    • The Scalextric Ford Gran Torino is now ineligible.
  • Scaleauto GT
    • Cars must use Scaleauto SC-08b or SC-0011b motors
    • See class rules for more information
One general rule has been changed and one has been clarified:
  • Breakdowns
    • The rule governing mid-race breakdowns has been amended to give the senior Race Steward or the most senior club Committee present a wide discretion to allow drivers to replace their car after a race has begun without penalty
  • Endurance Racing
    • Each driver should generally be given the same amount of track time, including weaker drivers.
    • See Endurace Series Race Format for more information.

Club Championship

In 2024 the Club Champion will again be determined by tallying points accumulated during the Sprint and Enduro series adjusted by deleting each driver’s worst results, including DNF and no-shows. Results from the annual Summer Series do not count towards the Club Championship.
